PETRONAS
pioneering initiative in the downstream sector
came with the acquisition of Mobil Oil Sudan
Ltd. From Mobil International Petroleum
Corporation in March 2003, which was renamed
PETRONAS Marketing Sudan Ltd. (PMSL).
Since the acquisition,
PETRONAS
has embarked on a comprehensive re-branding
exercise to transform the network of retail
service stations and related facilities, giving
it a look and feel consistent with that of
PETRONAS
forecourts worldwide. Today, the PETRONAS oil
drop logo can be seen everywhere from the
Khartoum city centre, to the runway of its
international airport on white trucks delivering
aviation fuel.
The transformation also involved the business
aspect where the work culture and procedures of
the existing operations are streamlined to
incorporate
PETRONAS
values and systems. This is reflected in PMSL'S
vision of becoming the preferred petroleum
marketing company, ensuring customer
satisfaction and the delivery of quality
products and services.
Today, PMSL operates a network of 81 retail
stations, 4 main bulk terminals, 6 aviation
depots and 14 other depots throughout Sudan.
Through PMSL
PETRONAS
is also marketing its high-quality range of
lubricants. PMSL aviation depots also form an
important lifeline for Sudan, a large country
where the outlying areas without rail or road
links are largely connected by air. |
